Athlete of the Month: Shruti Gupta

‘I’ve been working with [Shruti] as a client since 2017 and seen her evolve over the years. She came to me with multiple injuries and she’s dedicated the time in the pandemic to rehab and stay consistent.

It hasn’t been an easy process for her work is challenging and is under a lot of pressure and demand. She’s truly an inspiring client as she always takes a step back to reflect when things aren’t working and then dive head first into fixing it. She also is generally a bundle of sunshine!! Laughter and an infectious smile. Great energy towards any class she attends’

What is one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
My actual age :p but more seriously maybe that I’m obsessed with everything health and fitness related! I listen to many fitness and nutrition podcasts and love educating myself on getting fitter and making healthy choices.

How long have you been doing Functional Fitness? At CF6S?
I started at 6s in July 2019 and have been hooked since. I was doing bootcamp workouts for a few years before that.

What is your proudest 6S moment?
Definitely placing in the Toronto throwdown!

What’s your biggest fitness goal right now? How close are you?
I just want to stay consistent despite the gym being closed and work on increasing lower body strength. I have been able to maintain consistency thanks to the amazing coaches at 6s who keep me motivated to do the zoom classes with their energy! Also shout out to Alysha for keeping me accountable to my goals.

Other than fitness, what do you do for fun?
I’m an avid reader and pre pandemic I enjoyed traveling, trying new restaurants and spending quality time with friends and family.

What book are you reading right now?
How Bad Do You Want It by Matt Fitzgerald

What are three things still left on your bucket list?
I have way more than 3 things left but off the top of my head- I want to create a blog or write a book, I would love to climb Kilimanjaro or do the Patagonia W trek and I would love to do a stand up comedy routine one day.

If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose? Teleportation! No commuting time and super convenient for traveling the world 🙂

Choose a movie title for the story of your life.
Home Alone.
