January 6SFit Programming

Happy New Year, fam!

We hope everyone had a great holiday and is ready to kick things into high gear as we enter a new year. We have a lot of fun things planned for you this year and we cannot wait to see you all back in the gym!

As we inch closer to the CF Open, you will notice the 6SFit programming ramp up towards this goal. Whether or not you know what the “Open” is or choose to participate (anyone can!), this type of training progression is going to make EVERYONE stronger, fitter, more resilient, and faster (as long as you put the work in ;)).

We will be mentioning the Open in classes and to members, but if you want to read more, check out their website AT THIS LINK.

With this in mind, here is what you can expect in January’s 6SFit classes:

  • Well-balanced programming throughout the week, where some days have strength components, focussed on building strength in the legs and shoulders.
  • Open re-tests, aka good, sweaty, challenging workouts with a variety of movements and usually a lot of reps.
  • More accessory work and some different movements, to focus on tackling the smaller muscle groups and building strength outside of our usual frontal plane and asymmetrically.
  • Lots of barbell work partnered with specific warmups to maximize your technique, confidence, and success with these complex lifts.

When time permits, our coaches are going to add in mobility as well to the end of class. However, if there is not time for this in class, the mobility will appear in SugarWOD anyways, and we STRONGLY ENCOURAGE everyone does the mobility on their own as close to the end of class as possible. Keeping your body limber and mobile is one of the keys to recovery and building muscle!
