Tell us about yourself.
I moved here 3 years ago from Vancouver and am loving it. I work in clinical cancer research, having done so at BC Cancer prior to joining Princess Margaret Cancer Centre here in Toronto.
What is one thing people may be surprised to learn about you?
I’m a language nerd; I also studied German in school
How long have you been doing [Functional Fitness]? At 6S?
Since last September
Why did you start [functional fitness] training?
I used to train in Olympic Weightlifting. This was a way to train more comprehensively while still getting to do those lifts!
What is your favorite music to workout to?
Anything with a strong beat. Although, lately coach Kevin’s Britney Spears playlist has been pretty fire.
What impact has 6S had on your life inside and outside the gym?
Inside the gym: The community aspect is awesome. You step foot into a gym with all friends.
Outside the gym: I don’t get winded when I bike to work anymore
For someone just starting at 6S, what advice would you give them?
Keep at it, even when you don’t want to. Motivation gets you started; discipline carries you the rest of the way.
What’s your biggest health & fitness goal right now? How close are you?
225lb clean and jerk. Current max is 195.
Other than 6S, what do you do for fun?
Video games on my Switch
What was the best advice you were ever given?
When you think you might be too old to start something, remember you’ll get old anyways, so what does it matter?
Who inspires you?
My fiancé. He makes me proud everyday.

What’s the strangest talent you have?
I’ve stepped on a Lego piece before and it didn’t hurt. Does that count?
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Don’t really have a list, but I would like to see the pyramids one day
