Dietitian Approved On-the-Go Snacks

Most of us love travelling, especially in the summer.

But, coming back after a week or so out of our routine always sucks. We feel sluggish, our stomachs are out of whack, and it usually takes a few weeks before we feel like ourselves again in the gym.

While there are many reasons this happens, one of the main reasons, is we are eating foods we normally do not eat. And in most cases, we end up eating wayyyy more fats and wayyyy less protein than our bodies need and are used to.

That’s why it is important to control what you can and plan ahead, so that you have some snacks on hand when you notice the meal you ordered has next to no protein or is dowsed in oils.

Here are our top 3 protein / snack bars you can grab and bring with you when travelling to keep your protein and energy levels up & make the transition back to reality a little bit less sucky:

  1. High-protein clif bars (higher in protein than normal cliff bars)
  2. GOMACRO macro bar (gut-friendly and clean ingredients)
  3. Made Good mini cookies (lower in protein but higher in fibre, so good for when you are working out)

When in doubt, check the nutrition labels for macronutrient breakdown and look at the ingredients (you should understand them all and the list should not excessively long).
